The successful candidate will be taking a lead role in the development and maintenance of audio in Sepura’s PMR mobiles. The role is essentially DSP based however there will be significant interaction with higher level software, hardware and test teams as well as Sepura’s customer facing team. Responsibilities will include planning, architecture, detailed design work and implementation through to component testing and support. A clear understanding of a product development life-cycle is essential. A willingness to accommodate occasional travel within the UK and possibly overseas will be necessary.
Key knowledge and experience essential in the following:
System design.
Software development life-cycle.
Structured software design.
C programming.
Audio experience should include,
• Audio codecs.
• Audio algorithm development, e.g echo cancellation, equalisation.
• Audio in handportable communication systems or similar products.
Working knowledge in the development of modems and digital communications.
MATLAB/SIMULINK experience.
Experience of development using standard test equipment and debuggers.
Good general DSP knowledge and experience.
The candidate must be capable of communicating clearly and will be required to produce clear documentation.An engaging interest in technology (particularly DSP) and associated trends would be welcomed.
